What is a Cat Whisperer?

Well, you've heard of the "dog whisperer", right? An animal whisperer is anyone that has an extensive knowledge, training, and the true love for that animal to where they can totally relate to them on a most intimate level. They are confident and very sure of themselves. You might think of someone that rescues cats a cat whisperer but there really is more to that. Anyone that has food and welcomed all the cats from miles around would then be considered a cat whisperer and this just isn't so.

What is a Cat Whisperer? There are some people that cats are naturally drawn to and will keep coming back to them even with out food. Cats are extremely intuitive animals and are attracted to humans that give off some kind of aura that is comforting, soothing and irresistible to them. It's really no different than how certain humans are attracted to each other because of personality, commonalities, and emotional likeness. Cats as well as dogs know who has a fondness for them and who doesn't so they tend to gravitate towards those that do. I know for myself, I can't resist a kitty I see hanging out on a sidewalk or patio.

There are a lot of cats that have been abused and abandoned and do not trust their instincts to detect who is a good human and who is a bad one. These are very special cases where a true cat lover and trainer would be so beneficial. As with humans, these poor abused animals need to learn how to trust again and that only comes from time and a little cat therapy, if you will. A cat therapist, aka cat whisperers, has a gift of knowing how to communicate with these creatures and sometimes without ever saying a word. It's appears as though they aren't doing anything at all. A therapist uses body language to communicate with her patient and by using a cat's instinct and bonding capabilities, a cat therapist can teach her student how to trust and love again.
